ooo.. the wabbits are whorinas

Tainted Love, Marilyn Manson

After Bowling for Columbine, I think we all expect hidden depths from Marilyn Manson. But well, suspend that expectation for now. Don't miss the surprise appearance by Jenny Schecter from L word.

Tainted love was sung by Gloria Jones in 1964, revived by Soft Cell in the 80s and given a distinct pop gay flavour. The song has journeyed through more styles, unlike other cover versions that just twist a song this way or that. The most far out version is ofcourse this one. My favorite is strangely the original (I never like the original but this one is cool) and the Pussycat Dolls version.

In my head, there is always a woman in a hat singing this song in a room full of her lovers. And she means it for each one.

'Now I know I've got to run away
I've got to get away
You don't really want anymore from me
'
